Today, our spotlight is on Sarah and Daryl Ostrowski, a Management Team that oversee Admiral Porter, Pope and Stanton Apartments in the Government Portfolio!

The Getting to Know you questions

  • 1. First, tell us how long you’ve been at MRD?

  • Sarah: 25 years

    Daryl: 18 years



  • 2. What do you like most about MRD?

  • Sarah: Talking with my residents. Always something different every day.

    Daryl: Giving the residents a nice place to live.

  • 3. What is your proudest moment at MRD?

  • Sarah: Stanton Apartments winning the Best Complex in Sanilac County!

    Daryl: Stanton winning the award and seeing happy residents.



  • 4. What motivates you to work hard?

  • Sarah: Pride in my communities, after all these years, they are my babies!

    Daryl: Keeping the place looking nice.



  • 5. Who is your hero?

  • Sarah: I really couldn’t say. There have been so many influential people in my life. It would be hard to pick just one.

    Daryl: My dad.



  • 6. Best advice you have been given?

  • Sarah: A wise man told me 25 years ago, “If everybody likes you, you are not doing your job right”. I think of that on rough days! Wise man aka John Robison, MRD COO!

    Daryl: Work hard!



  • 7. If you could choose to do any job for a day, what would it be?

  • Sarah: Definitely a Veterinarian. I absolutely love animals!

    Daryl: Combining in the Midwest



  • 8. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

  • Sarah: Probably Kentucky in the mountains!

    Daryl: Happy right where I’m at!



  • 9. What was your childhood nickname?

  • Sarah: Teddy! Given to me by my older brother after my mom gave me a Ted Nugent style haircut!

    Daryl: Didn’t have one!



  • 10. What's 3 things left on your bucket list?

  • Sarah: Visit Nova Scotia where my mom was born. Someday see the San Francisco Bridge and visit the Covered Bridges in Iowa.

    Daryl: Combining across Midwest, travel more and farm full time after I retire


  • 11. Favorite things to do on your days off?

  • Sarah: Garden, play with my animals and spend time with my husband!

    Daryl: Farm, look at machinery and crop tour!
